Wall pieces
These most recent work were initially inspired by ols grind stones and worn metal objects. they range for thrown, thrown and altered and slab built. All of them are carved by hand by me, using tools I've made myself to my own requirements. They are then coated with many layers of slips, stains and oxodes before being textured using the Eroded Slip technique that I began developing during my time at university in 2010. Once texturing is complete, each piece is then hand painted with iron on all areas where the glay body is exposed, in order to give the feel of rusting metal, age and time to the piece.
